This is a three-quarter sphere made from porcupine quills, and it very much looks like a sea urchin at first glance. Photos really don't do this piece justice. It's quite lovely in person. I think it's safe to say that this is a one-of-a-kind sculpture. I'll never make anything like this again, and I can't imagine anyone else would be fool enough to do so either.
It measures approximately 5.5" x 5" x 3.25". It's situated on a wood base which makes it slightly easier to handle. That said, I can almost guarantee that you'll stab yourself with it at least once. Beauty is pain.
